International volunteering projects for Uniformed Groups & Youth Groups

Uniformed organisations such as Girl Guides, Girl Scouts, Scouts, Boys / Girls Brigades, Cadets etc; or youth groups, will find this a great place to organise an overseas volunteering trip.

The owners and managers of the Gunjur Project have all previously been youth workers in the UK and this experience helps them when working with youth groups and uniformed organisations.

The Gunjur Project will work with you to identify the kind of projects you’d like to work on. This could be peer education, physical work, sport, environmental or conservation work, or even a mixture of these. Their local knowledge combined with the skills you know you bring will mean you can develop an itinerary to suit your group. You can also build in social and cultural activities to balance alongside your community work. Please click here for group information.

Leaders can feel comfortable that there are risk assessments available, on-site security, local knowledge and guides – all there to help make the task of leading a trip like this as smooth as possible. Your trip will be fully catered and the level of accommodation is good for a developing country like The Gambia.
