Volunteer Building Projects, Skilled work & Maintenance jobs
We are working towards our vision for 2017 of building a training centre where the focus will be to support capacity building in the area using a range of workshops including:
- Health & wellbeing
- Women’s literacy
- Climate change
- IT programmes
- Food preservation
We have based our vision on the 2030 UNDP Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda, which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030. We are currently sourcing funding to make this happen and welcome any financial donations. Additionally once all funds are in place we would welcome anyone with skills to share and support with this fantastic venture working alongside and sharing skills with Gambian people.
Practical projects to get involved with
Tracks and trail maintenance
Our environmental partners are always looking for help to keep tracks and trails open and well maintained.
Help a family improve their living conditions – fix doors, brighten walls with paint, help make the place mosquito free by fixing netting to the windows and over beds. This is a very rewarding opportunity for everyone involved.
Maintenance work in schools
There is always something that needs fixing – if you are good with tools and do a bit of DIY then come along and lend a hand.
Furniture projects (funding & skilled)
We have templates for nursery furniture which is a great project for a skilled carpenter to work on / supporting and improving the skills of local carpenters
